Notice 2: Adoption of Standards VIN-1 to VIN-5, Version 1.0
Defence Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network
The Defence Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network, acting under the authority conferred on it by the Ministry, gives notice that version 1.0 of the following standards is adopted with effect from 6 September 2026: VIN-1 (Network Transport), VIN-2 (Identity and Credentials), VIN-3 (Device Certification), VIN-4 (Data Formats and Exchange) and VIN-5 (Security and Incident Reporting).
Devices, software and services connected to the Network must conform to the adopted standards. Existing equipment that does not conform may continue in use until 1 March 2027, after which it must be certified under VIN-3 or withdrawn from the Network.
The text of each standard is published on the developer portal. Later versions of a standard take effect only when a notice of adoption is entered in this Register.
